Volgograd hit by unidentified drones - Fire breaks out near oil refinery

On the night of February 10–11, unidentified drones launched a massive attack on Volgograd, Russia. A local oil refinery was hit, triggering a fire in the surrounding area, according to Russian channels.
At around 09:00 PM Kyiv time, a drone alert was declared in the Volgograd region, and Rosaviatsiya closed Volgograd airport.
A few hours later, as midnight approached, residents reported loud explosions in the city and its outskirts. Local social media channels received messages from people in Krasnoarmiyskyi, Sovetskyi, Voroshylovskyi, Volzhskyi, and other districts. The governor did not comment on the attack.
Just after midnight on February 11, footage of the fire began spreading widely online. Monitoring channels confirmed that unidentified drones had struck an oil refinery.
Later, social media channels clarified that the refinery targeted was reportedly Lukoil, marking the first attack of 2026.
As of 00:15 AM Kyiv time, Russian channels reported that the drone attack was ongoing and explosions could still be heard. Despite hours of attacks, no official comments from authorities have been issued so far.
Russian oil refineries hit by drones
Earlier, on the night of January 1, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that drones hit the facility, causing a subsequent fire.
On the night of January 26, Ukrainian forces targeted infrastructure at an oil refinery in Sloviansk-na-Kubani, a facility with a potential annual processing capacity of 4 million tons of oil.
