Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region overnight on January 1, as well as several Russian targets in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
"As part of measures to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor, on the night of January 1, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck several important enemy targets," the statement said.
In particular, the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region was hit. Strikes by attack drones were recorded, followed by a fire on the facility's premises.
Fire damage was also inflicted on the Almetyevsk oil preparation facility in the Republic of Tatarstan. The target was hit, and the results are being clarified.
In addition, the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck enemy targets in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region.
Thus, in the city of Donetsk, a storage facility for Shahed/Geran-type drones was hit. The results are being clarified.
At the same time, near the settlement of Shevchenko, a Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system was hit.
Also, in the area of the city of Ilovaisk, a fuel depot of the enemy's 51st Army was hit. A fire was recorded on the facility's premises.
In addition, in the area of Avdiivka, a command and observation post of an assault detachment of the 68th Tank Regiment of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division was hit.
The Special Operations Forces also confirmed strikes on Russian facilities in the Donetsk region.
Strikes on Russian targets
On New Year's night, the Unmanned Systems Forces carried out strikes on 10 military and infrastructure facilities deep inside Russia and in territory temporarily occupied by the enemy.
Also, drones struck the city of Lyudinovo in the Kaluga region, where an oil depot is located, as well as an attack on the Ilsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region.
That same night, unidentified drones also attacked Moscow. As a result, one of the capital's airports was closed.
On the night of December 31, the Defense Forces struck the Tuapse oil refinery in the Krasnodar region.
The Tamanneftegaz oil and gas terminal, a reserve oil depot, and ammunition depots of the Russian forces were also attacked.
