Ukrainian forces strike military and infrastructure targets deep inside Russia on New Year's night

On New Year's Eve, Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck 10 military and infrastructure targets deep inside Russia and in Russian-occupied territory, according to Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Commander Robert Brovdi, call-sign Magyar.
"The first oil refinery-2026 was set alight at 11:59 p.m., followed by the oil depot 3-5 minutes later," says Magyar.
According to the Commander, the strike was carried out by Unmanned Systems Forces' Birds to five objects in the temporarily occupied and five objects deep in Russia, with information about the strikes being provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Among the targets:
- Rovenky oil depot (temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region);
- Provision Point Rovenky (temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region);
- Radar station KASTA-2E2 (Hvardiiske, temporarily occupied Crimea) - device for airspace control, coordinate determination and air target recognition, and traffic control;
- Regional Landscape Park Hvardiiske Airfield (temporarily occupied Crimea) - radar station of the Hvardiiske combat airfield and positional area for the deployment and preparation of the launch of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system and Shahed drone launches.
In addition, according to Brovdi, these include Provision Point Balashivka (temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region); 2 Russian concentration points and a fuel and lubricants depot from the 69th Motorized Rifle Division and the 283rd Motorized Rifle Regiment repair base (Valuiki, Belgorod region, Russia); TOR air defense system (temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region) - the third air defense system destroyed on by the Asgard battalion of the 412th Nemesis brigade.
Attacks on Russia on New Year's Eve
Hits that night were also reported in the Russian city of Lyudinovo, Kaluga region, where an oil depot is located, and an attack on the Ilsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region.
The targets were attacked by drones.
Also, on the night of December 31 to January 1, unknown drones flew over the Russian capital, Moscow. For this reason, one of the capital's airports was closed.
The attack probably took place just as Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin was delivering his New Year's address to the Russian people.
