The United States will immediately lift the pause in intelligence sharing and resume military assistance to Ukraine. This agreement was reached during talks in Saudi Arabia on March 11, according to a joint statement following the meeting between Ukrainian and US delegations in Jeddah.

"The United States will immediately lift the pause on intelligence sharing and resume security assistance to Ukraine," the statement reads.

The delegations also discussed the importance of humanitarian efforts as part of the peace process, in particular during the aforementioned ceasefire, including the exchange of prisoners of war, the release of detained civilians, and the return of forcibly displaced Ukrainian children.

Negotiations between Ukraine and the US

Talks between Ukrainian and US delegations took place today, March 11, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The discussions were expected to focus on US military aid to Ukraine and intelligence sharing between the two countries.

Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, stated that the negotiations began constructively but did not disclose further details.

The talks in Jeddah followed a dispute between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump, as well as Washington’s decision to halt military aid to Ukraine.

According to US officials, Washington aims to pressure Ukraine into engaging in peace negotiations.

Suspension of military aid to Ukraine

US President Donald Trump ordered the suspension of all military aid to Ukraine following a conflict with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House. The freeze affected US weapons that had already been transported by airplanes, ships, and those that were on the territory of Europe.

Additionally, the United States has reduced intelligence sharing that Ukrainian armed forces could use for strikes on Russian territory. However, Washington continues to provide intelligence aimed at helping Ukraine defend itself.

NBC News reported that Trump will not resume military aid to Ukraine even after signing a minerals deal. Beyond this deal, he seeks a shift in Zelenskyy’s stance on peace talks, including a willingness to make territorial concessions.
