US attack on Iran

Over the past week, there has been active discussion about whether the US would join the war in the Middle East. However, on the night of June 22, it became known that the United States had launched airstrikes on three key Iranian nuclear facilities—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

President Donald Trump described the operation as a "remarkable military success" and even threatened to continue the strikes if Tehran did not return to the negotiating table for a new nuclear deal.

According to reports, the attacks used GBU-57A/B MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator) super-heavy bunker-buster bombs capable of penetrating thick protective structures. Preliminary assessments indicate that all three targets suffered significant damage.

Despite US warnings against retaliation, Tehran has stated that it is still preparing a response to the American attack.

Ukraine backs US strikes on Iran, calling for similar stance with Russia

Ukraine supports the US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, stating that Iran's nuclear weapons program must be brought to an end. Kyiv also expressed hope that Western nations will demonstrate similar determination in confronting the Russian regime, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports.

"Ukraine is convinced that Iran's nuclear program must be brought to an end so that it never again poses a threat neither to the countries of the Middle East nor to any other state," the Foreign Ministry's statement says.

US struck deal with Russia on Ukraine invasion resolution behind allies’ backs — Le Monde

The administration of US President Donald Trump, behind the backs of its allies, discussed with the Kremlin a draft resolution at the UN on the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. But the decisive actions of Ukraine's partners thwarted Washington's attempt to pass the necessary document for the US, Le Monde reports.

The French agency's sources say that Ukraine prepared a resolution to mark the third anniversary of Russia's invasion, condemning Russia's aggression and demanding the complete withdrawal of Russian troops. However, on February 21, US Chargé d'Affaires at the UN Dorothy Shea told representatives of France and the United Kingdom that Ukraine should withdraw its draft resolution.

NATO representatives decided to shorten the agenda. In The Hague, as in Canada the other day, there will be no long communiqués, only short statements on new commitments.
