The United States is prepared to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 if European countries cannot keep up with the training process, states Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary, Sabrina Singh, during a press briefing.

"The U.S. would be willing to participate in the training of Ukrainian pilots if there were more Ukrainian pilots in need of training than what the Europeans are able to handle," she noted.

She also added that Ukrainian pilots would need to undergo significant training in specialized English language proficiency to be prepared for F-16 flights, and this would take some time.

F-16 for Ukraine

The United States, after months of negotiations, approved the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine from Denmark and the Netherlands. National Security Advisor to the President, Jake Sullivan, stated that Ukraine would receive the aircraft after the completion of pilot training.

Notably, the Netherlands is set to provide Ukraine with 42 fighter jets, while Denmark will contribute an additional 19. Ukraine is expected to receive the first group of F-16 fighter jets from Denmark before the New Year.
