Ukrainian special forces snipers repel Russian attack in Zaporizhzhia region

Snipers from the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia direction engaged in direct fire combat with the Russian troops and destroyed Russian assault aircraft. A video of this has already appeared online, according to the SOF of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, during a Russian attempt to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, a group of snipers from the 144th SSO center carried out a combat mission.
While at the positions of a neighboring unit, the snipers saw a massive Russian attack on one of the Ukrainian defense sectors - the Russian troops used infantry, drones, and artillery. Russia managed to penetrate deep into the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Seeing the situation, the sniper group counterattacked the Russians, armed with grenades, machine guns, and assault rifles. The Ukrainian special forces not only stopped Russia's advance but also cleared the trenches of Russian assault troops.
"Thanks to the professionalism of the special forces and their coordinated actions, Russia's assault was repelled," the statement adds.
Situation on the front
This morning, August 27, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided detailed information about the situation on each of the front lines and showed maps of the hostilities. The most difficult spots were the Pokrovsk and Lyman directions, while the Zaporizhzhia direction is experiencing a lull.
At the same time, on August 26, DeepState analysts marked the villages of Novoheorgiivka and Zaporizke, located near the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region with Donetsk, as occupied on their interactive map. Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Dnipro Operational-Strategic Group of troops, told RBC-Ukraine that the Russians had entered these two villages.
After that, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Novoheorhiivka and Zaporizke had not been occupied by the Russians. Andrii Kovaliov, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, confirmed that the Ukrainian military controls both villages.
