Zaporizke and Novoheorhiivka under Ukrainian control: Situation in Dnepropetrovsk region

Ukrainian forces are controlling the villages of Zaporizke and Novoheorhiivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Russian advances have been stopped, states the spokesperson of the Ukrainian General Staff, Andrii Kovaliov, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
Kovaliov reminded that rumors about the alleged capture of the villages of Zaporizke and Novoheorhiivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region by Russian forces are fake.
According to him, today, Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups attempted to penetrate the Dnipropetrovsk region. Fighting is currently ongoing at the administrative border between Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions.
"The Ukrainian defense forces have stopped the advance of the Russian invaders, are detecting Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups, and destroying them. The villages of Zaporizke and Novoheorhiivka in Dnipropetrovsk region remain under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," emphasized the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.
Rumors about Russian advances
Earlier today, on August 26, analysts from DeepState marked the villages of Novoheorhiivka and Zaporizke — located near the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions — as occupied on their interactive map.
Against this background, the spokesperson of the Dnipro Operational-strategic group of forces, Viktor Trehubov, told RBC-Ukraine that Russian forces had entered these two villages.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff emphasized that Novoheorhiivka and Zaporizke were not occupied by Russian forces.
