Ukraine has demonstrated to everyone that it is not an obstacle to peace. The ball is now in Russia's court, which must provide the United States with an official response to the 30-day truce, says the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

“Ukraine once again demonstrated to the whole world that it is not an obstacle to peace. These negotiations once again showed who truly wants peace and who actually wants war. By supporting the American ceasefire proposal, Ukraine demonstrated its global commitment to achieving a just peace. Therefore, diplomatically, the ball is now in Russia’s court. We are waiting for their response, but a response without conditions,” Sybiha said.

The Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of waiting for an official response from Russia, noting that Kyiv assumes that no additional conditions for the ceasefire should be set.

“There are different official forms of confirming a state's position. As of today, it has not been provided. This confirmation must be given directly to the American side,” Sybiha said, commenting on the "nuances" of Vladimir Putin.

30-day truce in Ukraine

On March 11, negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations took place in Saudi Arabia, during which a number of agreements were reached. Among other things, Washington proposed a 30-day ceasefire on the front line, which Kyiv immediately supported.

After that, the American delegation visited Russia to raise the issue of a temporary ceasefire. Yuri Ushakov, Putin's foreign policy aide, said that Russia was not interested in a temporary ceasefire with Ukraine. Putin, in turn, began to talk about “nuances.”
