Security Service of Ukraine struck Permnefteorgsintez oil refinery and oil pumping station in Perm for the third time, located 1,500 km from the border with Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine reports.

On the night of May 8, specialists of the Special Operations Center Alpha of the Security Service of Ukraine struck the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez oil refinery and Perm linear production dispatch station.

The plant is one of the largest in Russia, and supplies fuel both to the civilian sector and the needs of the aggressor army.

"The Perm linear production dispatch station belongs to Transneft joint-stock company and is a strategically important hub of the main oil transportation system in Russia. Through the station, oil is distributed in four directions, including to Perm oil refinery," the intelligence service said.

As a result of the strike, fire broke out at one of the crude distillation units at the oil refinery — it is a key facility for primary oil processing. At the oil pumping station, one of the reservoirs came under attack.

Security Service of Ukraine emphasized that strikes on such facilities reduce volumes of oil processing and transportation, as well as destabilize the operation of enemy military logistics. In addition, the supply of fuel to Russians becomes more difficult, while the Kremlin directs billions toward the emergency restoration of strategic facilities deep in the rear.

Strikes on the oil refinery in Perm

On the night of May 7, Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez in Perm came under drone attack for the second time in eight days. Open-source intelligence analyst ASTRA established that the strike targeted this exact oil refinery, which was later confirmed by the commander of Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi (call sign Madyar).

Drones of the Security Service of Ukraine first struck oil infrastructure near Perm on April 29. At that time, fire was recorded at the linear production dispatch station that supplies oil to the refinery — flames engulfed almost all reservoirs at the facility.
