Drones from Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SSO) and Security Service (SBU) disrupted oil pumping stations in Russia on the night of September 20. The stations targeted are involved in exporting oil through Novorossiysk, according to RBC-Ukraine sources.

Long-range drones from SBU and SSO struck several oil pumping stations on the Kuibyshev-Tikhoretsk. These facilities are used to export oil through Novorossiysk.

The following facilities were hit:

  • Zenzevatka station (Zenzvatka, Volgograd region, Russia);
  • Sovkhoznaya-2 station (Progress, Samara region, Russia);
  • Samara linear production dispatch station (Prosvet, Samara region, Russia).

"The SBU continues its successful drone operations against Russian refineries and oil pumping stations. This infrastructure generates oil-dollar profits for the Russian budget, which funds the war against Ukraine. Efforts to cut off these financial flows will continue," a source in the SBU said

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, explosions were reported at the Saratov and Novokuybyshevsk oil refineries in Russia on September 20 after a successful special operation by Ukrainian forces. Oil pumping stations along one of the pipelines were also hit.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on September 20 that ongoing attacks by Ukrainian drones on oil refineries and the Druzhba pipeline are already having a tangible impact on Russia. Against the backdrop of fuel shortages, logistics are collapsing, as Ukraine's partners acknowledge.
