Ukrainian deputy PM and Hungarian foreign minister agree agenda for Zelenskyy-Orbán talks

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka held a meeting with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó. In particular, they agreed on the agenda for negotiations at the level of leaders, Kachka reported.
Kachka thanked Szijjártó for the "candid and constructive spirit" of the first personal meeting.
"Took stock of yesterday's bilateral consultations on national minorities rights. Clarified that we have no issues on substance and have solutions on all 11 points raised by Hungary. We are interested in more comprehensive dialogue with Hungary on national minorities policy," the deputy prime minister said.
The parties also discussed cooperation in energy, in particular how to ensure stability and diversification of oil and gas supplies and how to jointly reduce and completely stop the supply of Russian gas and oil to the EU.
Kachka emphasized that political discussions about the future of the EU are not an obstacle to negotiations on all blocks of EU legislation.
"And there are pragmatic solutions that can ensure respect to position of all the EU MS," the deputy prime minister stressed.
He called the conversation with his Hungarian counterpart substantive and pragmatic and aimed at future cooperation.
"We have framed agenda for our dialogue in particular at the highest leve," Kachka added.
Ukraine–Hungary negotiations
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha planned to visit Hungary due to rising tensions between the countries.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó confirmed Sybiha's visit and a meeting with him in Budapest.
However, later the Hungarian Foreign Ministry clarified that in Budapest a meeting was scheduled between Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó and Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, not Sybiha.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister held a phone conversation with his Hungarian counterpart about support for Ukraine in the EU and regional security.
