Ukrainian Armed Forces on drone attack on Russian Black Sea Fleet facilities in Crimea
Ukrainian military employed combat drones аor a successful attack on the facilities of the 126th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the temporarily occupied Crimea in the village of Perevalne, according to the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's Telegram channel.
The Special Operations Forces said they operated jointly with other units of the Defense Forces.
"Operation Top Gun! During the attack, several combat UAVs were used to inflict damage on the location of the mentioned enemy unit in Perevalne in Crimea. As a result of the strikes, the enemy suffered losses in killed and injured," the statement reads.
The special forces also disclosed that the complexity of carrying out a successful operation lay in the specific terrain features of the area.
"But the drones had successfully completed the route and reached their targets," said the Special Operations Forces.
They published a photo of one of the UAVs that participated in the operation.
Explosions in Crimea
Explosions have been increasing in the temporarily occupied Crimea lately. In most cases, they are related to successful strikes by Ukrainian military on Russian troops, equipment, and ammunition depots.
On August 25, there was an attack reported in the village of Perevalne in the Simferopol district, where the 126th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is stationed.
Additionally, on the night of August 25, powerful explosions were heard in several areas of Crimea, with the Russian Ministry of Defense claiming an alleged attack with 42 drones.
It was also reported that Ukrainian intelligence landed in Crimea on August 24 and a fighting took place near the settlement of Mayak on the Tarkhankut Cape as part of a special operation by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, involving naval and aviation assets. Ukrainian intelligence operatives put up the Ukrainian flag in Crimea after the operation.
Representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate said that the operation was of a raid-like nature and demonstrated that the peninsula was within the reach of Ukrainian military.
