Ukrainian tank crews put an end to attempts by Russian forces to gain a foothold on the outskirts of the village of Hryshyne, the 7th Air Assault Corps reported.
According to the military, the enemy managed to infiltrate the village after a failed mechanized assault in this direction that took place last week.
However, a group of infantry managed to survive and hide in residential buildings and barns on the eastern outskirts of the village. The enemy plan was simple: wait for reinforcements and attempt to strike Ukrainian Armed Forces units from the rear.
However, the movements and hiding places of Russian troops were detected thanks to coordinated interaction between the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade and adjacent units within the area of responsibility of the 7th Rapid Response Air Assault Corps. After the coordinates were confirmed, the command decided to deploy a Leopard 2 tank crew.
Footage filmed directly from inside the tank shows the German vehicle methodically destroying buildings that had become a trap for Russians. The Leopard 2 tank crew of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade, named after Anna of Kyiv, left the enemy no chance to entrench in Hryshyne — the remaining assault troops were eliminated.

Situation at the front
According to the 7th Air Assault Corps, Russian forces carried out a mechanized assault on the village of Hryshyne on the Pokrovsk axis. Ukrainian defenders disrupted the enemy advance by destroying part of its armored vehicles and personnel, although fighting in the area had not yet ended at that time.
In addition, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that Russia is pulling reserves toward Pokrovsk and the enemy is seeking a breakthrough using small groups.
Near Pokrovsk, Ukrainian soldiers were saved from enemy capture thanks to the actions of aerial reconnaissance and strike drones.
