Currently, Russia finds itself in a position where it has to seek solutions to avoid further losses at sea, according to the spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk.

Situation in the Black Sea

"This morning, there were no sightings of combat ships, neither in the Black Sea nor in the Azov Sea. This is primarily due to the situation that has developed for the Russians in the Black Sea. It's the danger of ship destruction. Therefore, they are currently trying to avoid going out to sea," explained Pletenchuk.

In particular, as the spokesperson noted, such behavior by the enemy may be related to the presidential elections in Russia. The enemy does not want to spoil the image with more destroyed ships.

According to Pletenchuk, at present, small boats are being observed in the Black Sea, mostly intended for work near the coast, such as repairing booms or something similar.

As of 07:00, the Navy press service reports 2 carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles that Russia has deployed in the Mediterranean Sea.

Ukraine takes the lead in the Black Sea

"In practice, this (initiative on Ukraine's side, - ed.) means that the enemy is in a position where it is forced to seek resistance right now to get out of this deadlock. In a relatively short period, they suffered a loss of three units due to the work of the Defense Forces. So currently, they are in search of tactical solutions to avoid further losses," explained the Navy spokesperson.

As Pletenchuk mentioned earlier, currently, the initiative in the Black Sea is on Ukraine's side. At the same time, Russia is adapting to new challenges and reacting to them.
