Russian drones target Ukraine's Odesa apartments overnight, killing at least one

On the night of July 19, Russia struck Odesa with Shahed attack drones. The strike damaged infrastructure, reports Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

"Despite active air defense efforts, civilian infrastructure was damaged. This includes several apartment buildings," he said.
Kiper added that all emergency services began working to clear the aftermath of the drone attack. Information about casualties is being clarified.
Local media reports that the strike hit one of the residential buildings. Authorities have not yet provided further details.

More than 20 Russian attack drones entered Odesa's airspace from multiple directions.
Civilian infrastructure was damaged. Mayor Trukhanov confirmed that a residential high-rise caught fire and people were being rescued from the blaze. No official information on casualties had been reported at that time.

One fatality has been confirmed.
"All emergency services are working in enhanced mode. Information is being updated," Trukhanov said, sharing photos from the scene.

Russia's attack on Ukraine on July 18
On the evening of July 18, Russia launched ballistic missiles and drones toward Ukraine. Missiles targeted Dnipro, while drones headed for Poltava.
Around 7:30 PM Kyiv time, they launched multiple high-speed targets. Explosions were heard near Poltava.
Russia also sent several groups of attack drones. A strike threat was announced for the city of Chernihiv.
The Air Force of Ukraine warned that Russian drones were approaching the Ukrainian capital. Air raid sirens sounded again in Kyiv. Air defense forces are active.
In Kyiv, the first damage from the drone attack was recorded. Part of a Russian drone fell on a residential building in the Darnytskyi district.
Odesa also reported explosions amid the drone attack.
