Ukraine seizes initiative in Black Sea, it's important - Naval Forces
Ukraine has taken the initiative in the Black Sea. However, the enemy is adapting to new challenges and reacting accordingly, says the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk.
According to Pletenchuk, it is difficult to predict what awaits Ukraine this year. At the same time, one should not discount the enemy's naval fleet, as Russia is adapting to new challenges and responding to them. Therefore, planning new operations to destroy the enemy fleet requires more detailed and coordinated efforts.
"In general, we can talk about a positive trend of our actions in the Black Sea. In particular, one can state that the initiative is currently on our side. Initiative matters for this matter, as it provides an opportunity to impose our conditions for combat operations. Currently, we are succeeding, but we have to continue to work further. As stated by the Commander of the UNF AFU (Oleksiy Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy - ed.), every ship under military flag in the Black Sea is a legitimate target for us," he added.
Russian sea blockade
Russian terrorists are using the Black and Azov Seas for their military purposes. The Azov Sea is currently under full enemy control.
After the liberation of Zmiinyi Island, the dominance of terrorists in the Black Sea has been reduced. However, after Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal, civilian navigation is under threat again, even though in recent months, attempts to break through the enemy's sea blockade have been successful.
Destruction of enemy ships
Ukrainian soldiers have destroyed several enemy ships. Recently the special forces of Ukraone's Defense Intelligence, Group 13, hit a patrol ship of the Black Sea Fleet Sergei Kotov near the Kerch Strait. According to RBC-Ukraine sources, a helicopter, presumably a Ka-27, was on board the destroyed Russian ship.
During the strike on February 14, a large landing ship of the occupiers Tsezar Kunikov was destroyed near the coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
