The Defense Forces struck a strategic railway bridge in temporarily occupied Crimea that Russian forces had been using to supply their troops, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

What we know about this strike

According to military command, a successful strike on a railway bridge was performed near the settlement of Ichok (renamed in Pushkine) in the occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The facility was considered strategically important for the Russian military. Russian forces actively used the rail crossing to rapidly transfer personnel, military equipment, and ammunition to mainland Ukraine to support their units.

The results of the strike and the extent of damage to the bridge are currently under clarification.

The General Staff emphasized that the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue targeting the Russian military-economic potential and logistics capabilities on a consistent basis, in an effort to stop Russia's armed aggression.

Russian oil refineries under attacks

As previously reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out precision strikes on two oil refineries in Russia overnight on June 28.

Drones successfully attacked facilities in Russia's Krasnodar region and Yaroslavl region, covering distances of up to 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The strikes were officially confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Targets included the Slavyansk oil refinery in the Krasnodar region, which supplies fuel to the Russian forces in Crimea.

Local residents reported hearing a series of powerful explosions, after which a large fire broke out at the refinery, and petroleum storage tanks caught fire. Russian authorities also confirmed damage to a gas pipeline and a power transmission line as a result of the overnight attack.
