Ukraine's Defense Forces struck two oil refineries in Russia overnight — in the Krasnodar region and the Yaroslavl region, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“Our soldiers began Ukraine’s Constitution Day very accurately. This night, our long-range sanctions reached two oil refineries in Russia,” Zelenskyy said.

The Slavyansk oil refinery in the Krasnodar region was hit overnight — located about 300 kilometers from the front line.

Ukrainian drones also reached an oil refinery in the Yaroslavl region, located approximately 700 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.

"We continue our operations that weaken Russia’s ability to wage this war. Each of our long-range sanctions means fewer resources serving Russia’s war machine, and another step toward peace. We will continue to respond to Russian terror," the president stressed.

Attacks on Russian oil refineries

As a reminder, on the night of June 28, drones attacked an oil refinery in the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban in Russia’s Krasnodar region.

According to eyewitnesses, a series of powerful explosions was heard near the Slavyansk oil refinery, followed by a thick column of smoke rising from the site and a large-scale fire breaking out.

Several storage tanks containing petroleum products are reported to be burning.

On the night of June 25, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck a fuel depot in the Kuban region, and in the morning — two plants in Ufa, located 1,500 kilometers from the front line.

It was also previously reported that the NORSI oil refinery in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, the fourth largest in the country, halted operations after a Ukrainian drone attack.
