On April 8, Ukrainian troops hit several of Russia's strategic targets, including oil depots and missile system sites, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Oil depot strikes in Crimea
During the night of April 8, units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck facilities supporting Russian military logistics.
In particular, oil depots in Feodosia were hit, where a fire broke out after the attack, as well as in Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
These facilities are used by Russian forces to store fuel and lubricants.
Strikes on warehouses and logistics
In addition, Ukrainian forces carried out strikes on logistics depots in the areas of Svitle in the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, Sukhodilsk in the Luhansk region, and near Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region.
Targets also included a field artillery depot near Yalta, a drone warehouse in the area of Stepne, and an ammunition depot in the settlement of Uralo-Kavkaz in the temporarily occupied part of the Luhansk region.
Equipment and positions hit
Other targets included a radio-electronic intelligence station near Novoozerne, as well as a coastal missile system Bastion position area near Sofiivka in occupied Crimea.
What is known about the aftermath
Information on enemy losses is still being clarified. Ukraine’s Defense Forces stress that such strikes are aimed at systematically weakening the combat potential of the Russian army.
Ukrainian forces continue efforts to disrupt logistics and reduce the enemy’s offensive capabilities until Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine is fully stopped.
Special forces of Ukraine’s intelligence (HUR) destroyed the Russian Slavyanin ferry in the Kerch Strait.
Meanwhile, on the night of April 8, Russian forces carried out a drone attack using Shahed-type drones on an oil refinery in Merefa, Kharkiv region.
