Ukraine discusses security guarantees with UK Defense Chief

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov met with UK Chief of the Defense Staff Tony Radakin. One of the topics discussed was security guarantees for Ukraine, according to Umerov.
As Umerov noted, Radakin’s successor, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, also participated in the meeting.
During the talks, they discussed:
- Securing reliable security guarantees for Ukraine
- Strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities
- Long-term support in the war against Russia
- Maximizing sanctions and political pressure on Russia.
"Grateful to our partners for the comprehensive assistance and steadfast support that the United Kingdom provides to Ukraine," Umerov added.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
Previously, the UK Chief of the Defense Staff, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, assured that his country is ready to send troops to Ukraine to protect the skies and seaports.
At the same time, the admiral emphasized that British soldiers would not be sent to the front line in Ukraine.
The Telegraph reported that the UK is prepared to send its troops to Ukraine in the first week after a possible ceasefire with Russia.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump stated today that Europe must provide Ukraine with "significant" security guarantees.
