Europe will have to provide Ukraine with "significant" security guarantees. However, the United States will also take part in this process, stated the US President Donald Trump while speaking to journalists.

"Europe is going to give them significant security guarantees, and they should, because they're right there. But we'll be involved from the standpoint of backup to help them," Trump emphasized.

According to him, if an agreement is reached between Ukraine and Russia, security guarantees will not be a big problem.

At the same time, he added that the United States would provide support, since the killings must stop.

Security guarantees for Ukraine

Some European countries within the Coalition of the Willing are discussing sending their troops to Ukraine to prevent a possible new Russian invasion.

Meanwhile, according to Politico, during a meeting with his European counterparts, US Deputy Defense Secretary Elbridge Colby stated that the United States would take only a minimal role in providing security guarantees for Ukraine.

At the same time, CNN, citing sources, reported that the United States may send its pilots to Ukraine for air missions.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also did not rule out US air support for Ukraine as part of security guarantees
