US does not rule out air support for Ukraine as security guarantee

The White House does not rule out that the United States may provide Ukraine with air support as part of security guarantees. The US administration called it "an option and a possibility," said White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, as quoted by Sky News.
At a press conference, White House spokeswoman Leavitt was asked about the potential presence of American air forces in Ukraine as a security guarantee, to which she replied: "It is an option and a possibility."
"I won't certainly rule out anything as far as military options that the president has at his disposal," the spokeswoman also said.
She added that Trump has only "definitively" ruled out the possibility of American ground troops being present in Ukraine.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
During the meeting of the presidents of Ukraine, the United States, and European leaders at the White House on August 18, security guarantees were one of the main topics of discussion.
The allies may provide Ukraine with security guarantees based on the principle of NATO's Article 5, but outside the framework of the Alliance itself.
US President Donald Trump emphasized that Washington will take part in providing security guarantees, but the main role will be played by European countries. At the same time, he ruled out the deployment of American troops in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Coalition of the Willing announced its readiness to deploy deterrence forces in Ukraine. The coalition will also send its military planners to the United States for consultations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the details of the guarantees are planned to be agreed upon within 10 days.
