Special forces from the Security Service of Ukraine's (SBU) Alfa unit fired on Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied territories. An airbase, warehouses, and a Russian logistics hub were targeted.
Units of the SBU’s Alfa special forces, operating in the mid-strike zone, carried out strikes last week against priority targets of Russia in the temporarily occupied territories.
The strikes were carried out in accordance with orders from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as part of a systematic effort to reduce Russia’s military capabilities.
SBU's drones attacked military infrastructure in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The following targets were struck:
- Dzhankoi military airbase, where relay stations for Russian Orion strike and reconnaissance drones, as well as warehouses containing weapons and equipment
- Infrastructure of the Crimea port in Kerch
- Ammunition and fuel/lubricant depots in Novohryhorivka and Chervone.

The SBU also destroyed a logistics hub containing unmanned aerial vehicles, ground-based robotic systems, and ammunition near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. This facility provided logistical support to Russian troops in that area.
Strikes on Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions
In addition, permanent deployment sites for Russian drone pilots in Komysh-Zoria and Kamianka, Zaporizhzhia region, were struck. Russian military depots in Hranitne and Styla, Donetsk region, were also destroyed.
These special operations disrupted elements of the Russian troops’ logistics and hampered the supply of ammunition and fuel to frontline positions. During the strikes, pilots and command personnel of Russia's unmanned aerial vehicle units and ground-based robotic systems were eliminated.
Other attacks on Russian targets
Meanwhile, on the night of July 8, unidentified drones attacked two Russian cities at once, Saratov and Borisoglebsk.
A fire broke out at an oil refinery in Saratov, while in Borisoglebsk, either an oil depot or a local airfield may have been targeted.
That same morning in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, two industrial facilities may have been attacked: the Nizhnekamskneftekhim petrochemical complex and the TANECO oil refinery.
So far, Russia has not provided any official confirmation of this information.
Occupied Crimea was also attacked with drones on the night of July 8, causing fires at two power substations—Nyzhniohirska and NS-3.
The fires at these facilities were detected by NASA’s FIRMS satellite service.
