On the morning of July 8, in the Russian city of Nizhnekamsk (Tatarstan), two large industrial facilities may have been struck simultaneously — the petrochemical complex Nizhnekamskneftekhim and the TANECO oil refinery. There is currently no official confirmation of this information, according to posts from several OSINT public pages, including Exilenova+.

What facilities could have been the target

According to local public channels, among the likely targets of the attack is Nizhnekamskneftekhim – Russia's largest petrochemical enterprise, which is part of the SIBUR holding company.

However, later information emerged that it concerns TANECO (Nizhnekamsk Oil Refinery), which is considered one of the country's most modern refining complexes.

TANECO produces Euro-5 standard gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, liquefied hydrocarbon gases, petroleum coke, bitumen, base oils, and other petroleum products.

At the time of publication, Russian authorities and representatives of the enterprises had not officially confirmed the information about the attack and possible consequences. The data is still being clarified.

On the night of July 8, drones attacked several Russian regions at once. Explosions and fires were recorded in Saratov and Borisoglebsk, where, according to local sources, blazes broke out after the strikes.
