Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR) struck an oil refinery in Dagestan with drones. As a result, the primary oil processing facility was put out of action, according to sources.

According to the agency's sources, the target of the drones belonging to the Sarhas unit of the Directorate for Operational Activities of HUR was an oil refinery in Makhachkala.

Sources in HUR specify that this refinery supplies the Russian occupiers. It was struck by Ukrainian-made drones.

According to videos posted online, at least one of the drones successfully attacked and disabled the primary oil refining unit. The strike caused a large-scale fire at the plant.

"The impact on Russia's oil industry will continue and will continue to grow," the sources added.

Attack on Dagestan oil refinery

Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the Defense Forces' strike on an oil refinery in Dagestan.

According to the military command, a strike on one of the oil refining facilities was recorded in Makhachkala.

This plant supplies fuel to the Caspian naval base and also refuels Russian ships. Its annual capacity reaches 1 million tons. The damage is being assessed.

Yesterday, October 21, explosions and fires broke out at two oil refineries in Europe that are linked to Russia. These are the MOL refinery in Hungary and the Petrotel Lukoil refinery in Romania.

The MOL refinery is Hungary's main oil refinery, which actively purchases Russian oil.
