Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha emphasized in an interview with RBC-Ukraine that the temporary ceasefire does not mean freezing the conflict. He also said that monitoring compliance with the agreement will be a key challenge.

Andrii Sybiha said that reaching a ceasefire is a complex process that includes not only agreements but also monitoring their implementation.

According to him, it is a temporary truce, not a frozen conflict.

“This is by no means a frozen conflict but a temporary ceasefire for 30 days, as stipulated in our joint statement with the American delegation,” Sibiga emphasized.

He also emphasized that even if an agreement is reached, Ukraine and its international partners will face challenges in monitoring the implementation of the agreements. Monitoring compliance with the ceasefire remains a key issue.

On March 11, negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations took place in Saudi Arabia, where many agreements were reached. One of Washington's key proposals was a 30-day ceasefire on the front line, which was immediately supported by Kyiv.

The Americans visited Russia to discuss the possibility of a temporary ceasefire. However, Russian presidential aide for foreign policy Yury Ushakov said that Russia was not interested in a temporary truce with Ukraine.
