Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, is demanding that the training of Ukrainian troops be moved underground as much as possible due to the risk of enemy strikes, according to Syrskyi’s Facebook post.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he held a meeting today focused on personnel training. First and foremost, he heard a report from Major General Ihor Skybyuk, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, who is responsible for training matters.

Syrskyi emphasized the strict adherence to safety requirements at training grounds and educational centers.

"All of Ukraine is within the risk zone of enemy missile and drone strikes. Therefore, the training process must be moved underground as much as possible. It is essential to respond immediately to air raid alerts and the appearance of reconnaissance drones," the Commander-in-Chief stressed.

Russian strikes on training grounds and centers

Russian forces have repeatedly targeted training grounds and centers in Ukraine.

In particular, on Tuesday, July 29, Russian forces launched a missile strike on the territory of one of the training units of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. It is known that three servicemen were killed and 18 were wounded.

A commission has been established and an internal investigation launched to determine all the circumstances and causes of the personnel losses.

Earlier, on June 22, the enemy struck a temporary training ground of one of the mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region.

As a result of that attack, three soldiers were killed and 14 others were wounded. At the same time, the command stated that a timely response to the threat helped prevent greater losses.

Additionally, in May, Russia struck a shooting range in the Sumy region. In early June, it attacked the 239th training ground in Dnipropetrovsk region, and a few days later — a training ground in Poltava region.

Amid these strikes, then-Commander of the Ground Forces, Mykhailo Drapatyi, resigned and was reassigned to lead the Joint Forces. He was replaced by Brigadier General Hennadii Shapovalov.
