On July 13, Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) summarized the previous week of its 40-day campaign against Russia. According to the SBU's report, the operation targeted numerous key Russian military and energy facilities.
This time, the Security Service focused on the following areas:
Russia's shadow fleet
- The tanker Blue was struck by the SBU's Sea Baby naval drone. At the time of the attack, the vessel was located near temporarily occupied Yalta in Ukraine's exclusive economic zone. Russian aircraft attempted to intercept the naval drone, but Sea Baby successfully struck the stern of the tanker. The vessel is under sanctions imposed by the EU, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Ukraine for transporting Russian oil in circumvention of international restrictions.
Russia's fuel and energy infrastructure
- The SBU struck the Cherkasy oil pumping station in Bashkortostan, one of the main facilities of the Transneft-Ural system. Ukrainian drones flew 1,500 kilometers to reach the target. Eight SBU attack drones reached the site and successfully hit the tank farm and production facilities.
- Russia also failed to protect the Chervona Zorya oil depot in the Tver region, where a fire broke out after the SBU strike.
- The Stavropolskaya oil depot in Stavropol Krai also caught fire following the attack.
- In addition, damage was confirmed to a petroleum products storage tank and a pumping station at the TES-Terminal-1 oil depot in Kerch.
Russia's oil infrastructure
- This time, the SBU targeted the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery and the Yaroslavl oil pumping station in the Yaroslavl region. The refinery is one of the largest in Russia.
- The oil loading terminal at the Vysotsk seaport in the Leningrad region was also hit. Oil loading racks were disabled, and three petroleum product storage tanks were struck.
- The First Plant oil refinery in the Kaluga region was also hit, causing a fire after the SBU attack.
Military infrastructure
- Ukraine's Security Service struck the Hvardiiske airfield in Crimea. Damage to three aircraft hangars was confirmed.
- The SBU also struck a Pantsir-S2 surface-to-air missile system near Simferopol and a mobile fire group in Kerch.
- In the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region, strikes targeted the deployment sites of drone unit crews. Warehouses containing drones and their warheads, as well as ground control stations for unmanned systems, were also destroyed.
- In the temporarily occupied part of the Luhansk region, the SBU struck a warehouse containing large-caliber weapons. The attack caused a fire and the detonation of ammunition.
Earlier, SBU struck one of the main facilities of Transneft-Ural.
Also, the Security Service struck an airbase, a port in Crimea, and other enemy targets.
Fighters from the Unmanned Systems Forces successfully attacked nine more tankers belonging to Russia's shadow fleet.
