Ukraine receives €2 million in communication gear from Luxembourg and Iceland

Ukraine has received a shipment of equipment worth nearly 2 million euros from the so-called IT Coalition. The aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was funded by Luxembourg and Iceland, according to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
European partners have provided Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence with equipment aimed at improving communications for Ukrainian troops on the front lines. The package includes:
-
3,288 access points of various models
-
500 routers
-
460 charging stations with solar panels
-
872 phones.
“I thank the countries of the IT Coalition for strengthening the technological resilience of our military. With this equipment, we will enhance the capacity for high-quality and reliable communication within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is crucial on the line of contact,” said Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development Kateryna Chernohorenko.
It’s worth noting that this is the third shipment from the IT Coalition in 2025. In January, Estonia, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg provided Ukraine with equipment worth €3.3 million under the initiative, followed by a €7.5 million delivery in February.
What is known about the IT Coalition
The IT Coalition is one of the capability coalitions within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, held in the Ramstein format. It supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defence in the areas of IT, communications, and cybersecurity.
Currently, the coalition includes Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, and Japan. The leading nations of the coalition are Estonia and Luxembourg.
Support for Ukraine from Luxembourg and Iceland
Last year, Luxembourg also joined the Drone Coalition initiative, created to develop the industrial production of FPV drones in Ukraine and the West.
Additionally, in July of last year, Ukraine and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg signed a bilateral security guarantees agreement in Washington.
The agreement specifies that Luxembourg will provide military support to Ukraine, both in land and air forces, as well as in the cyber-electromagnetic domain. Luxembourg will continue offering long-term assistance in equipment and training, including the preparation of instructors and training for Ukraine's Security and Defence Forces within the EU Mission.
Meanwhile, Iceland has already contributed over €2 million to the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund this year. The country’s total contribution to the fund exceeds €5.6 million.
