The Ukrainian delegation in Davos held a series of important meetings focused on economic development, postwar reconstruction, and security guarantees. Partners were also briefed on Russia's devastating attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, according to National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary and head of the Ukrainian delegation Rustem Umerov.

"Together with Davyd Arakhamia and Oleksandr Kamyshin, we held meetings with colleagues from BlackRock, one of the world's largest US investment companies, which is involved in plans for Ukraine's reconstruction and economic recovery," Umerov said.

He also noted that he met with the prime ministers of Norway and Qatar, and separately held talks with US partners, including US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff.

"The main topics were economic development, postwar reconstruction, and security guarantees. We informed our partners about the latest Russian strikes on civilian infrastructure, particularly the situation in Kyiv, where millions of people were left without electricity and heating as a result of the attacks," the NSDC head added.

Umerov stressed that work with international partners is ongoing to ensure Ukraine's security today and its recovery in the future.

Ukrainian delegation in Davos

The Ukrainian delegation is currently in Davos for the World Economic Forum. A meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump had been expected to take place there, but Zelenskyy remained in Kyiv due to the severe energy situation following Russian attacks.

However, Trump said that a meeting with Zelenskyy is still expected on January 22. The two sides had planned to sign an agreement in Davos on Ukraine's postwar reconstruction worth about $800 billion.

Regarding a potential peace settlement in Ukraine, Witkoff and Kushner are expected to visit Moscow on January 22, a plan confirmed by the Kremlin. Russia was recently presented with the latest version of a peace plan.
