Ukraine may offer Russia land swap involving Kursk region – Zelenskyy

Ukraine may propose a territorial exchange with Russia, involving part of Russia’s Kursk region in return for Ukrainian land currently under occupation, stated President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with The Guardian.
He said that if negotiations with Russia begin, he plans to propose a direct land swap to Moscow. Kyiv would offer part of the Kursk region in exchange for Ukrainian territory.
"We will swap one territory for another," Zelenskyy said.
He added that it remains unclear which occupied territories Ukraine would demand in return.
"I don’t know, we will see. But all our territories are important, there is no priority," he added.
Kursk operation
Since August last year, Ukraine has been conducting active combat operations in Russia’s Kursk region. According to the Deep State map, Ukrainian forces control over 400 square kilometers in the area.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously emphasized that the Kursk operation is a strong trump card for Ukraine in negotiations, especially regarding the Global South countries that once considered Russia "invincible."
Zelenskyy also suggested that the operation could play a role in potential talks with Russia on ending the war.
Notably, last week, Ukrainian forces launched a new offensive in the Kursk region, making advances in certain areas.
