It should be noted that the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region began last August. Thanks to the element of surprise, they managed to take control of many settlements, including the city of Sudzha.

As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted, the Kursk operation is one of Ukraine's major victories in the war. It forced Russia to deploy 60,000 of its soldiers.

Additionally, according to the Ukrainian leader, the Kursk operation led to the largest replenishment of the exchange fund in a single military operation.
