Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda believes that lifting the restrictions for Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with long-range missiles by Western countries would be a turning point in the war. This permission from Washington, London, and Paris for Kyiv was reported by the press, according to the Twitter (X) account of the Lithuanian president.

The Lithuanian president welcomed the decision.

"The day has come! Ukraine can now target military sites in Russia using long-range missiles. This is a decisive moment in Ukraine's fight against the aggressor Russia," Nausėda wrote in a social media post.

At the same time, the Lithuanian leader emphasized that ending Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine can only be achieved from a position of strength.

"Peace cannot be achieved through weakness. Peace is the reward of the strong. Stay strong, Ukraine!" Nausėda wrote.

Report on the approval by the US, France, and the UK for Ukraine to carry out long-range strikes

It is important to note that Ukraine has repeatedly requested its Western partners, including the US, to lift the restrictions on the use of their weaponry for strikes on Russian military targets deep within Russian territory.

However, the official Washington had been cautious in responding to such requests from Kyiv.

Meanwhile, on November 17, Western media reported that the Biden administration had authorized Ukraine to use American weapons for strikes on Russian territory, including ATACMS missiles.

Following this, according to the Western press, France and the UK also granted permission for Ukraine to carry out long-range strikes on Russian territory using SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles. More details on this are in the article by RBC-Ukraine.

Additionally, it was reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already reacted to the announcement of the permit from the US, UK, and France to launch missile strikes on Russia.

Reports also emerged yesterday indicating that Ukraine may launch ATACMS missile strikes on Russia in the coming days.
