Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that Kyiv and Vilnius will jointly manufacture defense products to strengthen the security of both countries.

Particular attention will be paid to the creation of long-range drones and the launch of joint production facilities.

A letter of intent was signed in Kyiv together with Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Dovilė Šakalienė.

The document opens up opportunities for launching joint ventures, developing Ukrainian companies in Lithuania, and exchanging technologies.

Shmyhal thanked his Lithuanian colleague for her visit and productive cooperation.

The Minister also emphasized that Lithuania will continue to allocate 0.25% of its GDP to military aid to Ukraine until 2027, which is a strong signal of long-term support for Ukrainian soldiers.

As part of the agreements, the parties focused on attracting additional funding for the purchase of weapons and the development of the Ukrainian defense industry.

Drone production

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine plans to manufacture hundreds of thousands of interceptor drones this year. He noted that the number of Russian Shaheds shot down will increase.

At the same time, the head of state noted that Ukraine will contract all available volumes of priority types of drones.

In addition, he wrote on social media that Ghana is ready to finance the production of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
