The Ukrainian government has agreed to the US peace plan to end the full-scale war, but there are still “minor details” that need to be finalized, reports CBS News.
Citing an American official, CBS News reported that the Ukrainian government agreed to a peace deal mediated by the administration of US President Donald Trump.
“The Ukrainians have agreed to the peace deal. There are some minor details to be sorted out but they have agreed to a peace deal,” he noted.
NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov stated that a general agreement had been reached on the proposal, the details of which still have to be worked out.
He also expressed hope that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would be able to visit Washington by the end of November to finalize the deal.
US peace plan
On Sunday, November 23, Ukrainian officials met with Americans in Geneva to discuss the US peace plan. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the team of US President Donald Trump is beginning to hear Ukraine.
Yesterday, November 24, the Financial Times wrote that the US peace plan had been cut by almost a third. Currently, the document contains 19 points instead of the initial 28.
RBC-Ukraine previously wrote, citing sources, that the updated version of the peace plan should no longer include a cap on the size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Besides, the clause on amnesty for crimes committed during the full-scale war in Ukraine will be removed.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi said that especially sensitive issues would be discussed personally by Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump.
