Russia steps up use of North Korean ballistic missiles in Ukraine, Zelenskyy warns

Russia has begun increasingly using North Korean ballistic missiles during its attacks on Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned.
The head of state confirmed that on the night of August 11, Russian forces launched North Korean ballistic missiles at Zaporizhzhia.
In addition, the enemy used Zircon missiles and guided aerial bombs. According to the latest data, six civilians in the city were killed in the massive attack. Another 19 civilians were injured.
"It was a vicious attack, calculated to inflict maximum damage specifically on civilian infrastructure," Zelenskyy stressed.
According to the president, Russia's latest decisions and actions only indicate that it is not interested in ending the war.
"Every step Russia takes – increasing ballistic missile production, bringing in North Korean equipment, preparing for mobilization – all of this shows that Moscow is preparing not for peace, but for escalation. And the world needs to respond now, not wait," Zelenskyy warned.
Against this backdrop, he called on allies to increase sanctions pressure specifically on the enterprises that fuel Russia's war machine.
In addition, the head of state once again asked partners to support Ukraine's air defense in order to save as many lives as possible.
North Korea provided Russia with a new shipment of ballistic missiles
On August 10, Zelenskyy reported that North Korea had provided Russia with a new batch of its own ballistic missiles.
According to the president, military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang continues to intensify rapidly. The head of state recalled that this is a problem not only for Ukraine but for the entire world.
Moreover, it became known that Russia plans to recruit 50,000 North Korean soldiers into its army.
