What media says about meeting

According to Western media reports, Driscoll met with a Russian delegation in Abu Dhabi yesterday, and negotiations are expected to continue today.

According to Politico, Driscoll will present the Russians with a peace agreement agreed upon on Sunday between the US and Ukraine. Sources told the agency that the plan now under discussion consists of 19 points, not 28. Changes have been made to the document, particularly on issues relating to the territory of Ukraine.

In addition, according to CNN, Driscoll's meetings with the Russians are intended to lay the groundwork for higher-level cooperation.

What Russia says about peace plan

Putin's press secretary says that the US peace plan could be a very good basis for negotiations. He also says that the Russian side had been given a draft of the plan and adds that the text that we had unofficially received earlier has now changed.

He says that his plan was drawn up based, in particular, on the understandings reached in Anchorage, and it largely corresponds to the spirit of Anchorage.

At the same time, he does not confirm that a meeting between Russian and American representatives was taking place in Abu Dhabi.

US peace plan and Ukraine's position

Last week, information emerged about a peace plan developed by the US to end the war in Ukraine. The information first appeared in the media, which reported that Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff and Putin's associate Kirill Dmitriev were working on the plan.

The US plan originally contained 28 points. Ukraine confirmed the existence of such a document. Over the weekend, Ukrainian and American delegations held a meeting in Geneva, where changes were made to the plan.

As RBC-Ukraine found out, the issue of amnesty and a radical reduction of the Ukrainian army were removed from the plan.

The reduction of the peace plan was also confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. In addition, commenting on the meeting in Geneva, the participants in the negotiations noted that some points of the plan would be agreed upon by Presidents Zelensky and Trump. In particular, this concerns the issue of territories.
