Kremlin calls Zelenskyy-Putin meeting at Miami G20 impossible

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated his readiness to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Miami for negotiations to end the war. The Kremlin immediately dismissed this possibility, calling it "impossible," according to France 24.
In an interview published on Saturday, the Ukrainian president said he is ready to meet with Putin at the G20 summit, scheduled for December 14–15. Zelenskyy insisted that Ukraine is in a better negotiating position due to Russia's battlefield losses.
There is currently no confirmation on whether Putin even plans to attend the summit itself.
"It is impossible," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told AFP journalists in New Delhi, reiterating Moscow's demand: a meeting is only possible in the Russian capital.
When asked if the Kremlin is considering an alternative location for a meeting with Zelenskyy, Peskov replied that the readiness to meet exists - but in Moscow.
The day before, Peskov had already stated that the Kremlin is counting on a new trilateral meeting involving Russia, Ukraine, and the US - according to him, an agreement on this has already been discussed with American negotiators.
