Kremlin expects new trilateral meeting with Ukraine, US

The Kremlin spokesman said Moscow is open to negotiations and expects to hold a new trilateral meeting involving Russia, Ukraine and the US in the near future. According to an interview with Dmitry Peskov with Izvestia, an agreement on this has already been discussed with American negotiators.
"We remain open to negotiations. We hope that, as was discussed with American negotiators, we will be able to meet again as three parties in the foreseeable future and continue the dialogue," Peskov said.
At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman noted that it would be "difficult" to predict the possible outcome of such a meeting because "the situation on the ground is getting worse for Ukrainians each time."
Peskov emphasized that Russia's position and conditions are well known, as are the "root causes of the conflict" outlined by the Russian side, which, according to him, must be eliminated.
Commenting on the possibility of a meeting between Putin and Donald Trump in China, Peskov said that there were no final agreements on this yet.
Asked about possible attempts by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to influence Trump's position ahead of such a meeting, the Kremlin spokesman said that the US leader had developed his own view of relations with Putin, which hardly anyone would be able to change.
Earlier, it was reported that Putin, Trump and Xi Jinping were discussing a possible meeting - Peskov named a tentative time and place at the time, although no final decision had been made yet.

In addition, it was previously reported that Trump was ready to meet with Putin but had a demand concerning Ukraine.
