Anchorage, Alaska chosen for Trump–Putin meeting - White House
US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt clarified that the American leader is "determined" to end Russia's war against Ukraine and stop the killings.
Zelenskyy instructs government to simplify border crossing for young Ukrainians
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the government to simplify crossing of the state border for young Ukrainians aged up to 22 years.
The president noted that this is "a positive, correct story that will help many Ukrainians maintain connections with Ukraine and realize themselves in education in Ukraine."
Zelenskyy reports good news and explains what happened near Dobropillia in Ukraine
In the Sumy region, Ukrainian forces liberated six occupied settlements and reached the border in two locations. Meanwhile, near Dobropillia, Russian groups advanced several kilometers.
"Sumy region. We had 18 points there – occupied villages or important locations. Six have been liberated. That means we are moving forward. This is good news. In two points, we reached the border with Russia. I think this is more or less positive," Zelenskyy stressed.
Territory exchange between Ukraine and Russia impossible, says Ukrainian parliament speaker
Ukraine cannot engage in a territory exchange with Russia, even by holding a referendum. Violating territorial integrity is against the law.
Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that the transfer or exchange of Ukrainian territories is prohibited both at the legislative and constitutional levels.
Security Service of Ukraine hits Shahed storage facility in Tatarstan again this week: Video
On August 12, drones of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) attacked a storage terminal for Shahed kamikaze drones in Tatarstan.
As noted by the SBU, long-range drones from the A Special Operations Center were used in the attack. In the logistics hub that was struck, the Russian forces store ready-to-use Shahed drones, as well as foreign components for them.
