President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the government to simplify crossing of the state border for young Ukrainians aged up to 22 years, according to the head of state.

"At this time, there is a restriction up to 18 years, I propose to raise it to 22 years, so that there would be no restrictions when crossing (the border – ed.)," said Zelenskyy.

The president noted that this is "a positive, correct story that will help many Ukrainians maintain connections with Ukraine and realize themselves in education in Ukraine."

Departure of men abroad

During mobilization and martial law in Ukraine, most men with deferment have the opportunity to travel abroad, but not all categories.

Apart from men under 18 years old and older than 60, the majority of those who have the right to deferment can also leave the country. At the same time, the requirements for documents for crossing the border differ.

In particular, the right to leave have: men with disabilities, those who accompany one of the parents with the first or second group of disability, men who have three minor children in their care, parents of minor children with disabilities, as well as other categories. Each of these situations has its own peculiarities regarding departure, and it is necessary to prepare a package of documents.

Also, students of Ukrainian higher educational institutions can travel abroad for one semester under academic mobility programs. However, these are not all students: it is necessary first to pass a competition. More details – in the RBC-Ukraine material.
