Elected President of the US, Donald Trump stated that he would not be a dictator - except for the first day. According to his own words, on his first day in the White House, he will have a lot to do, reports AP.

His agenda includes:

  • starting up the mass deportation of migrants;
  • rolling back Biden administration policies on education;
  • reshaping the federal government by firing potentially thousands of federal employees he believes are secretly working against him;
  • pardoning people who were arrested for their role in the riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021;
  • bringing Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table.

"I want to close the border, and I want to drill, drill, drill," he said about his plans for the first day.

Trump's press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, stated that there will be dozens of executive orders during the first week.

Settle the Russia-Ukraine war

Trump's press secretary, after he was declared the winner of the election on Wednesday, said that he would now be able to negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. She later added, "It includes, on the first day, bringing Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table to end this war."

Trump has repeatedly stated that he could end Russia's war against Ukraine in a single day. According to media reports, one option discussed would require Ukraine to give up some of its territories.

Recently, British media published another version of Trump's so-called peace plan. It proposes European troops in a buffer zone between Ukraine and Russia.

After his re-election, a Trump adviser stated that it was now unrealistic for Ukraine to reclaim Crimea. However, the office of the newly elected president denied such a statement.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, commenting on Trump’s potential plan, warned that a swift end to the war could result in losses for Ukraine.

On November 10, The Washington Post reported that Trump had a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday. The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they were unaware of this.
