Russian drones should not have been in Poland. They were disabled and fell on Polish territory, said US President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News.

Trump was asked whether he considered the Russian drones in Poland a mistake.

The US President said he could not comment on whether it was a mistake or not. He emphasized that the drones should not have been in Poland.

Trump expressed confidence that they were disabled, explaining that the best way to deal with a drone is to disable it, which causes it to fall, and expressed hope that this had been the case.

Drone attack on Poland

On the night of September 10, around 20 Russian drones entered Polish airspace, most of them from Belarus. Polish air defense managed to shoot down four of the drones.

Debris from 16 Russian drones was later found across 11 towns in Poland. One drone crashed on the territory of a military base.

According to media reports, Russia may have attempted to target a NATO base on Polish territory, as some of the drones were heading in that direction.

In response to the Russian attack, NATO invoked Article 4, allowing member states to discuss the situation with allies in the North Atlantic Council.

At the same time, US President Donald Trump said that the Russian drone incursion into Poland might have been a mistake. Later, he emphasized that Russian leader Vladimir Putin should not approach Poland in the context of his drone and missile attacks.
