Trump claims Europe asked him to call Putin

White House President Donald Trump claims that European leaders have allegedly asked him to call dictator Vladimir Putin because the latter is ignoring them, according to NBC.
According to Trump, to achieve peace, Russia must abandon its plans to occupy the entire territory of Ukraine, although it wants to.
"And if it weren’t me, they would keep going. Do you know that the European Union leaders have asked me to call Putin so many times? Because he doesn’t return their phone call," Trump said.
Earlier, Putin had already spoken with at least one European leader - on November 15, 2024, he held talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Trump-Putin talks
On March 18, Trump had his first phone conversation with Putin. They discussed a ceasefire on all energy and infrastructure facilities, which the Russians ultimately failed to observe.
Also, in late February, Le Point wrote that Trump might allegedly arrive in Moscow on May 9 to meet with Putin, but the US president later denied this information.
