Trump believes in a complete ceasefire in Ukraine: 'Pretty soon'

Very soon, there will be a complete ceasefire in Ukraine, although there are many obstacles to achieving this, US President Donald Trump stated this during a briefing at the White House.
According to the US president, there are many obstacles to achieving a ceasefire in Ukraine. In particular, "a lot of guns point at each other" and "some soldiers surrounded by other soldiers."
"Pretty soon, I believe we're going to have a full ceasefire. And the contracts being negotiated — the contract in terms of dividing up the lands. It's being negotiated as we speak," Trump stated.
He added that a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war is expected in "many areas."
30-day ceasefire
On March 18, US President Donald Trump held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They agreed that the path to peace would begin with a ceasefire on energy and infrastructure, as well as "technical negotiations on implementing a ceasefire in the Black Sea, a full ceasefire, and lasting peace."
During the conversation, Putin also stated the need to halt Ukraine's mobilization and the rearmament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the event of a truce.
The next day, Trump spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the first steps toward a truce between Ukraine and Russia.
Following the conversation, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine agreed to halt attacks on Russia’s energy and other infrastructure facilities.
