European countries consider several potential proposals for a ceasefire in Ukraine, but none have been agreed upon yet, according to Reuters.

On Monday, March 3, a spokesperson for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that there are several options for a ceasefire in Ukraine. European leaders are considering these after France floated a plan for a one-month pause leading to peace talks

"There are clearly a number of options on the table. I just won't comment on all of them," Prime Minister Keir Starmer's spokesman said.

European countries, led by Britain and France, are rallying around Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and trying to hatch a peace plan that includes Kyiv after last week's Oval Office rupture between Zelenskyy and Trump.

One-month ceasefire

On March 2, a summit on Ukraine took place in London to demonstrate strong and unified support for Kyiv. The meeting was organized by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

According to Western media, French President Emmanuel Macron does not believe in a ceasefire agreement that could be reached between the United States and Russia. Therefore, Macron and Starmer are working on a joint plan to achieve peace in Ukraine, which includes proposing a one-month pause.

Le Figaro noted that the France-UK plan includes a "ceasefire in the air, at sea, and in energy infrastructure" for one month. According to Macron, this plan has an advantage as it would allow for monitoring the implementation of the truce.

However, there is no public support for Macron's idea from other allies at this time. Additionally, the UK and France have not yet agreed on a one-month ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, stated UK Deputy Defense Minister for Armed Forces Luke Pollard.

One British official, as reported by the Financial Times (FT), mentioned different options that will be discussed with American and European partners. Meanwhile, the one-month ceasefire has not yet been agreed upon.
