Ukrainian rescuers show aftermath of Russian attack on Kyiv that killed 8

On the night of September 1, Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv, striking civilian infrastructure and residential areas. Eight people were killed, and seven others were injured, including three children, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration and Ukraine's State Emergency Service.
Scale of the damage
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, civilian infrastructure was damaged in five districts of the capital — Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Solomianskyi.
Aftermath by district
In the Darnytskyi district, strikes caused fires at two locations. This district recorded the highest number of deaths, with seven people killed, while another person remains in hospital in serious condition. The fire has already been extinguished.
At another location in the same district, the blast wave injured two people, including one child.

In the Holosiivskyi district, debris hit a non-residential building. A fire covering an area of 40 square meters was extinguished, and one person was killed.
In the Solomianskyi district, a drone struck a residential building, causing partial destruction. Rescuers saved a man and freed a woman from under the rubble. Emergency medical personnel took them both.
On September 1, explosions were heard in Kyiv as Russian forces attacked the capital with ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as jet-powered drones.
The Kyiv region was also hit that night. In Boryspil, a massive missile and drone attack damaged a residential building and a business. One person was killed, and eight others were injured, including a child, while 48 people had to be evacuated from the damaged building.
