The UK and France have not yet agreed on a partial one-month ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, according to Luke Pollard, the UK's Under Secretary of Defense for Armed Forces.

Pollard said that there was no agreement on what the truce should look like.

One of the British officials, according to the Financial Times, spoke about various options that will be discussed with American and European partners. However, a one-month truce has not yet been agreed upon.

The FT adds that Macron's proposal during the summit did not have clear details and was not endorsed by other leaders. At the same time, no one spoke out against it.

Another Western official noted that it was clear that no leader was enthusiastic about the French president's idea, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Plan for one-month truce

On March 2, a summit on Ukraine was held in London to demonstrate joint and firm support for Kyiv. The meeting was organized by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

According to Western media, President Emmanuel Macron and Starmer are working on a joint plan to achieve peace in Ukraine. In particular, a truce for a month is proposed.

Le Figaro noted that Macron does not believe in a ceasefire agreement that the United States of America and Russia can conclude. He is convinced that Vladimir Putin will first of all try to humiliate Ukraine, in particular by demilitarizing it.

The plan of France and the United Kingdom envisages a truce in the air, at sea, and in energy infrastructure lasting one month. According to Macron, the plan has the advantage of allowing for monitoring of the truce.
