Switzerland has confirmed its readiness to host future international meetings dedicated to the peaceful resolution of the war in Ukraine, according to a statement from Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Yermak said that following up on the meeting and agreements between the presidents of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Switzerland, Karin Keller-Sutter, he held a conversation with Gabriel Lüchinger, Switzerland’s National Security Advisor.

The Head of the Office of the President informed Lüchinger about the meeting between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul and the negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.

"We also discussed the future dialogue on a just peace. Switzerland confirmed its readiness to host future meetings on the peaceful resolution," Yermak reported.

Zelenskyy’s meeting with the President of Switzerland

At the end of last week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter. The meeting took place in Rome.

The presidents discussed the need for a ceasefire in Ukraine, increasing pressure on Russia, humanitarian demining, the implementation of school meal programs, and the construction of shelters in Ukrainian schools, as well as the participation of Swiss companies in Ukraine’s reconstruction.

Zelenskyy also informed Keller-Sutter about the negotiations in Istanbul and emphasized the importance of unity and coordination among all partners to achieve a complete and unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine.

New round of negotiations

Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is already discussing the possibility of a new round of negotiations with its partners.

According to him, three locations are currently being considered for such a meeting: Istanbul, the Vatican, or Switzerland. He emphasized that Ukraine requires the highest possible level of representation from all delegations.

Yesterday, Zelenskyy’s office named the most active European countries in the peace process.
